"MORE GREAT NEWS"

Janet has been endorsed by the Independent.

"What clinches it for us is that Cowell's progressive campaigns have
attracted the support of a cohort of young activists whose energies - like
hers - are sorely needed in the Wake Democratic Party.  She's a rising
star."

See, you folks are already making a difference.

Volunteers Needed

Now is the time to stretch for the tape.  Call and e-mail your friends and
family and make sure they vote on Tuesday.  It is going to be a low turnout,
and every one will count.

If you have been mailing postcards, try to make a follow up phone call to
those folks before Tuesday and remind them to vote.

We are also canvassing this weekend.  We will meet Saturday at Janet's at
10:30.  If you cannot make it then, but want to canvass, just contact Perry
at perry@perrywoods.com, and he will get list and map to you.  If you cannot
canvass, but would like to make some phone calls, e-mail Perry and he will
send you a list.

We also have some slots to fill as poll greeters on Election Day.  This is
just holding a sign, and thanking people for coming out to vote, and
answering questions if asked.  We still a significant number of undecided
voters, it is important we have as many of the 52 precincts we have covered
as possible. We are scheduling two-hour shifts.  6:30 to 8:30 in the
morning, 11:00 to 1:00 during the day, and 5:30 to 7:30 in the evening.
Contact Jonathan Ducote at jlducote@unity.ncsu.edu to get an assignment.

VICTORY PARTY

We are going to start out election night at the Vertigo Dinner at
426 S. McDowell St. We will gather there after the polls close until about 9:00.

After that, Erskine Bowles is having a Party at the South End Brewery.

LET'S PUT JANET OVER THE TOP!

We are in great position, but now let's close the deal.  With a little luck
and some hard work, we have a shot at getting to 40% Tuesday, thus avoiding
an August Runoff.  That would make a tremendous statement in this strong
four-person field.  Let's prove the Independent right.
